So Much

So. Yeah. I haven't blogged much lately.
Been meaning to, just haven't quite mustered the vibe.
So much to say.
These shots are from a Solstice Party.
Yep, WAY back then, last year!
So Much has happened in between.
At least I am starting to catch up.

We drove to Moscow, Idaho on the Friday before the Solstice.
We visited my sister, Annie and her family in their new house.
We had a lovely hommade dinner with them and then went downtown to music at a coffee shop.

Saturday we met friends at a trailhead and has our first ever "dark&stormy" (awesome cocktail) and then skied in a mile or two or so with heavy packs laden with food and beverages and warm clothing and sleeping bags and spent a lovely night up on Moscow Mountian at a very cool place.
Food, Fun, Fellowship, Fireworks, bon-fire....night skiing on the ridge....
All in all a grand time!
Downhill trekking with much lighter packs the next day was heaven!

L8R that day

Thank-You, Costa, for the hats!
We just LOVE them!
It was like a house full of Santa's.
(or something? Gangstas, perhaps?)

Yaak Wilderness Festival

This is a puppet from a few years ago when "the puppet lady" came to Troy and the local students created these fabulous puppets over the course of several weeks and then had a parade and puppet show. Part of the " puppet project" was for the kids to learn about the communities heritage and to talk about what their perceptions of the community were and to incorporate these concepts into puppets and act it all out.
The puppets always show up at Yaak Wilderness Festival, but randomly at other events around town too. This tree guy started dancing as soon as the sun dropped over the mountain and Sol Jibe started playing! I took a movie of it but it was too dark to really see.
Below is Mike in our shady spot by the River where we got a great side view of the stage.
Sol Jibe!
On the mainstage with the Kootenai River in the background.

Usually the Yaak Wilderness Festival is in Yaak.
But the venue at which it is usually held was unavailable this year
so it was moved to Roosevelt Park in Troy.
It was a fun party, but it did lack the charm of the Yaak.

Kootenai River Bluegrass Festival

This is one of the musicians from the Bluegrass Festival,
I don't know who he is, but he was nice enought to pose with the River in the background
and I like this foto!
The kids had fun digging this hole and then playing in it!
it was very entertaining to watch!
I did have to get in there and stand just to feel that nice mud!
This daisy kept Randy and I cool as we manned the ticket booth!
We took turns cooling down.

Here is the water shooting from the kiddie pool,
very cooling and lovely (and popular) on 100° days!

Another Orbit Beginning....

Yep! Mike had a Birthday! We celebrated by both of us taking the day off work. I made him this chocolate/chocolate cake, his request this year. He had several friends stop in throughout the day and Zeek stayed for a fine dinner of ahi tuna steaks and then to top off the day, we had a Rod & Gun club meeting, the first of the year. Not what either of us really wanted to do, but, Oh Well!
Mike went out with the "boys" after the meeting.....I went home.

Valentine Ball-Dirt Chicken Oscars

We are a dazzling couple, we just can't help it!
This is the 7th annual "Goodwill Formal" our Valentine Ball.
"We" have now decided that it will take place during the long weekend of February each and every year, so start looking for your frock for the 2010 party!
The ladies spend the afternoon in Wanda's, a local Troy establishment getting hair and make-up done. Wanda works her magic on the hair and we consult and help one another with make-up and lashes and nails.....more fotos of that to follow.
This year Mike had his hair done at Wanda's as well and he was smashing!
