Trippin'

Slowly, but surely I am updating the trip fotos,

bear with me as I get them uploaded and hopefully add some text!

We had a LOT of car seat time!

Connecticut

I love to wander around in CT, George and Nancy live in a wonderful area with a State Park nearby. There is a castle in the park and the grounds overlook the Connecticut River.
I loved the early morning shadow play on this big Oak.

Maine II

Mikes parents came up from CT to visit, spend Molly's birthday with all of us and to transport us back home with them. We visited the L.L. Bean flagship store and factory outlets.

Maine

We took a trip.

We began by taking the "red-eye" flight from Spokane WA to Portland, Maine.

We arrived in Maine Monday morning bright and early.

One morning, Molly and I awakened bright and early and drove to the coast (10 minutes away) to watch the sun rise. Perhaps you can see the silhouette of the rocks and some shine from the water in the above foto.

Here is the house, built in 1870, that Molly and her beau, Costa just bought.

Here is another view of the house, it is inside those trees if you look carefully.
Isn't it a beautiful landscape?

And here is a big magical tree in the yard.

Apple Harvest

This was a busy week in preparation for a bit over two weeks away from home, travelling.

WE still hadn't had a killing frost as of Tuesday and I needed to get the apples harvested and put up before we left!
Thankfully we got our sugar-setting frost and I got the apples off the trees.

Some of the apples I sliced thin and dehydrated.

I had to, with the new dehydrator, it just had to be done!

Grapes

Well, it didn't really look like the grapes were super-producing this season, but once I actually got inside the bushes, there were tons to be had! So now I am busy juicing them, making "liquid love" the fabulous purple wonder, bottles and bottles of it! It sure is good!

Art Stuff

I got these new art markers. I was telling cousin Meaghan about them and she asked me a bunch of questions about them, so I decided to show her! the big markers are my new ones.

They have double tips; a broad side and a thin side and they work like a water color wash on the broad side and they also are great for laying color to make shadows and depth.

The other pens are some old ones I have had for ages and they have very fine tips and more colors of gray, which is great!

The doodles and envelopes are what keeps me occupied during conference calls or meetings, to keep my focus so that I don't drift off into the outer abyss! The envelopes are magazine pages that were pretty, I covered up the words and ads with other pretty images.
